Export
The Export module allows you to extract data from the Pricelist Server in Excel format for updates, checks, or synchronization with external tools like EasyCatalog. The available exports enable you to obtain items, descriptions, headers, and compositions in a controlled manner, maintaining data structure consistent with that used during import.
The main functions of the module are:
• export items complete with descriptions and prices
• export items with multilingual descriptions only
• export headers and compositions in Excel format
• manage generated files within the Files → Exports section
🧱 Main Screen
The screen shows the three available export types:
• Export Items
• Export Headers
• Export Compositions
Each tab allows you to start generating the desired file via the Open button.
📦 Export Items
Allows exporting items in the catalog with two alternative methods:
• Export items with descriptions and prices
• Export items with descriptions only
In the first case, you are required to select the export price list; the system includes all columns corresponding to prices in the Excel file, along with the COD fields and multilingual descriptions.
In the second case, only the descriptions are exported, maintaining the same structure but without price values.
The generated file is automatically saved in the Files → Exports section and can be downloaded at any time.
🏷️ Export Headers
Allows exporting descriptive texts and headers linked to the items.
The format and logic are identical to those of the import: each column represents a language or a descriptive field.
The file is stored in the Files → Exports section.
🧩 Export Compositions
Allows extracting item compositions, including rows, quantities, price columns, and multilingual descriptions.
The Excel output maintains the structure seen during the import phase and allows for subsequent updates or re-entry.
In this case as well, the file is saved in the Files → Exports section.
🔁 Reset and update of the PAGE field
Before starting an export, it is necessary to update the PAGE field in InDesign. This operation serves to limit the export only to the items actually present in the active price list, avoiding the generation of overly extensive or irrelevant files. The correct procedure is as follows:
1. Click on Reset PAGE field within the Export module of Pricelist Server.
2. Open Adobe InDesign.
3. From the panel or book menu, select the path: Update panel → With page numbers…
• if you wish to update only the open document, execute the command directly from the panel;
• if you want to update all the documents in the book, execute the command from the Book (after selecting the reference panel from which to take the data).
4. Once the page number update is complete, open the corresponding panel (e.g., data, headers, or compositions) and from the menu choose: Update Database… to synchronize the updated information within the database.
5. Return to Pricelist Server and start the desired export (Items, Headers, or Compositions).
Updating the PAGE field and the subsequent synchronization of the database are mandatory for all exports of Items, Headers, and Compositions.
💾 Main Actions
• Open / Start Export → starts generating the selected Excel file
• Reset PAGE field → prepares the system for a targeted export
• Cancel → stops the current operation
🧠 Operational Tips
• always perform a reset and update PAGE before exporting
• export only the data actually present in the current InDesign document
• verify the selected price list before starting the export of items with prices
• check the generated files in the Files → Exports section and keep it organized by deleting obsolete ones
